Karcher - Which one and what accessories?

Post by racingfreak »

Hi guys

I'm looking into getting myself a karcher with a foam lance

Need some advise on which model to look at + what foam lance gives great results + what soap to use in said lance?

I'm not detailing pro, but always hand wash my car with 2 bucket method + clay/polish/wax once a year...so not a sunlight and sponge type of guy either

Saw the k2.360 (or something) at builders for just over R1k...

I have the midrange one ,will check the name later as its still brand new in the box (my dad bought it the other day ) .....Its the one with built in soap dispenser and comes with 2 different attachments.
The bottom of the range karcher is still perfect for washing a car because you don't need that much pressure as its damaging to paint if used incorrectly.

Crazydetailer sells a foam lance. You can use chemical guys citrus wash clear or citrus wash and gloss in your foam lance .

I have got a K2.21 - think it is the bottom of the range one which I paid about R700 for from Game - works an absolute treat. Like brads said, you don't want/need to high a pressure.

I have only heard great things about the foam lance from Crazy Detailer. Was planning on getting one but they never had stock when I had bucks

Do you guys use washer + foam lance for pre-wash or sometimes as a "touch-less" wash?

I dont have a foam lance (yet), but will definitely add this into my prewash routine to minimize contact with any dirt and the paint when washing. Currently my weekly wash routine is to spray off with the hp washer first, then wash(2 bucket method) dry, and wax (every 2 to 3 weeks). I will however also spray the car mid- week with the hp washer just to keep the muck off the car in between washes as "touch- less" wash, let it air dry and then give it a quick wax with some ultimate detailer.

I bought one a while back the Karcher foam nozzle 0.6L works like a dream cost me R199.00 from the place in Meadowdale,a small Karcher shop, it works like a dream makes a tonne of foam if you get the mix right etc. you also get a smaller bottle 0.3 L but its a waste you use the 0.6L on a car haha, well I do...

I got this one
