Polo 9n windscreen washer bottle - how to replace - update
i hit a curb with the front left corner of my car a few weeks back and all of the windscreen washer water came out. not sure if the bottle broke or if a pipe or something came out.
how do i get to the washer bottle? wanna check what i need to replace. what tools are needed?

You need to take the whole bumper off to get access to the bottle AFAIK.

To be honest, I can't remember, I have a small Mastercraft toolset that has all that I need, with the exception of 1/2" socket's and large spanners, 25+...Hotdubz wrote:any idea what size torx heads? i dont have any so will need to buy set. if you know the common sizes for the Polo please let me know so i can get a set that has most of them.Neuk wrote:Ummm - Torx head screwdrivers or a ratchet set and a lot of patience It's not that bad, just takes time...

Re: Polo 9n windscreen washer bottle - how to replace?
Mastercraft FTW! With the exception of a few extra's here and there, I've never regretted getting the big toolbox I have.
I'll bring my Haynes Manual to work tomorrow and scan in the pages for bumper removal. Will either put them up in the thread or mail them to you.
It doesn't look too hard tbh.

I was looking at fitting sprays onto the intercooler and redirecting the water from the washer bottle to the SMIC.
If I had this at ODI results would have been very different

Yes, you can see the necessary. If you need to view and access from the front you can remove left front foglight grill.Hotdubz wrote:Thanks Marco. i can see everything that is happening there if i remove this? i will also need torx heads hey?MeanTdi wrote:It will be alot easier to remove the left front fender arch cover and wheel to access the washer bottle.
Yes, torx head will be necessary. I have the cheap 'made in china' ones that have worked fine for years.

Re: Polo 9n windscreen washer bottle - how to replace?
thanks man, what size is needed?MeanTdi wrote:Yes, you can see the necessary. If you need to view and access from the front you can remove left front foglight grill.
Yes, torx head will be necessary. I have the cheap 'made in china' ones that have worked fine for years.
