Yup day was great fun. Small numbers unfortunately but meant great for many runs on the 1km for us

Best 1/4 I could get on the 1km was 14.2 before they recalibrated the 1/4 mile stip. But am sure I was quicker than that. Unfortunately my mate needed to head on home so missed the drags but none the less was a great day out.

Nice and toasty.

What was the fastest 1km time in the end ?

Looking forward to getting some r :hi: esults.

Yes thanks guys I had a great day. I had a few minor issues to sort out during the day but even so I had agreat time. It was great to chat again with some good friendsm

All in all I'm impressed with the jetta it was the first time out with it and dispite really crappy trackion 1-3rd I still managed some pretty decent times. Can't wait to get some semi's.

The only thing that still boggles my mind is/was the 1/4m times and speeds that we got from the 1km vs the straight 1/4m?

Suddenly after we went to the normal 1/4m only, the majority of the guys scored an some time and some speed.
I wonder - maybe as the day went on the dust/dirt that was on the track got less?
But if traction was the problem, then our exit speeds shouldnt have changed - purely because the less traction one has, the better your top end.....

Its strange...

During the 1KM runs, they where including reaction times into the 1/4 mile times for sure.

In the afternoon, once the 400m runs started they where not including them.
I took a second or 2 to stage before i took off and it didnt impact my times.

Was a bloody hot day, 36 degree's
Had fun though, congrats to all those who pulled through.

Hey guys, what a fantastic event!

Big thanks to comm - you guys rock.

My first time ever on the 1/4 mile. Traction was great but my TDI was just not boosting due to all the heat. The 1 klm run taught me all about heat soak

Thanks for the runs Titleists, Larry and the guy with the red Revo S3 :hi:

Was a very nice event! I did not realize how far it was because my cellphone battery was dead, no gps!

Thank you MeanTdi for allowing me to use your helmet, i did not plan on racing my sportline, but temptation was too much to handle!

I got burnt nicely in that heat, my manager asked me if i went to durban or something this weekend as my colour has changed quite a bit

Just hope to have the white polo ready for the next drags

Thanks to everyone who came through. The day was super hot, I feel sorry for all the guys dressed in black .. bad choice!

Turnout could have been better, I know ODI is far, but hopefully next time more guys will come through. We had exclusive use of the track all day, and runs were well organised and the staging and parking area is nice and big, so there's plenty opportunity for everyone to run as many times as they want.

The 1km turnout was particularly bad, I think we had less than 20 runners for the 1km, and a few stragglers who came late. It was my first time out on a 1km, so I was pretty interested to see how things went. At the north side of 200kph, those cones come up pretty damn quickly. I haven't seen the results, but I think I managed 2nd or 3rd fastest 1km speed at 222kph in the Slk.
