Hi guys with all of you knowing alot about a mk1 what is the top speed I should get out of a 1.8 Carb ... And if I am not getting much speed out of it wat should I look at ?? I am getting lets say 115kph if i am lucky its my second mk1 but the first one drove well past does speeds but i know that the first one did have a few things done to the engine ....

I tried using the o degree mark on the flywheel and the small tot on the camshaft to align with the bottom valve cover,also the rotor point aligned with the dizzy notch.the car started, but doesn't hold it's idling. What could be wrong?
