just thought about it and i think it should be running into the Boardnetz box and then out to the cluster

Not 100% sure of the velo but my reasoning tells me that the rev counter will pickup it's signal from the (-) on the coil the Dictator also connects to the coil at the same spot .. at least thats how my Jetta is wired and then from there to the cluster.

the normal cluster i can wire up from scratch, i just need to confirm if i should trace the - wire... (ok i think i just answered my own question here) to the boardnetz box and see if it goes to the cluster, if so i think i know why my rev counter does not work.

just need to double check if i should wire directly to the cluster or let the current flow through the control unit as there might be some chip that controls the voltage or something... (like the BMW sound system's)

Pin 4 blue/grey wire on Dicktator connects to centre wire on distributor plug feeding into cluster.

Are you running Dicktator std? The signal wire(centre wire) on dissy plug is wired from dissy centre wire to pin 1 green wire on Dicktator. The other part of the signal wire going to the inside on harnass is then connected to blue/grey wire pin 4 on Dicktator.

So last night I got it sorted

I was struggling with the rev counter in the car, on the dictator everything was good.

Its a 2008 citirox with a ABF motor runnig on STD dictator, on the dictator side nothing is wrong and I ended up runnig an aftermarket rev counter from the tacho wire that comes from the dictator and worked perfectly, just irritated the living crap out of me

So last night what I did after reading the forum the hole day

From the plug that is currently in the dizzy (Dictator loom) I took the middle wire (signal) opened the isolation and place a "separate" wire on it , I then took the original dizzy plug that was left behind from the original loom (as its still in the car) and connected the "separate" wire to the middle wire (signal) of the original dizzy plug. Now all is working and for the time in 4 years i have a proper rev-counter
