I have never bled a lifter in my entire life, ever. Have never had an issue. Just always buy lifters made by INA. done. stick them in and you are sorted. Also check your cam for marks that it is not the cam causing the noise.

The noise is completely gone now.
Hopefully it stays that way.
They were replace on Tuesday and people have been saying I should give it a few days to go away.

Hi everyone. I'm am struggling a bit with my VW Golf mk1 1.4i 2008 city rox. I have changed my rings as it was burt into the piston and I change my bearings except the cam bearings...I took out the Hydraulic Valve Lifter and someone told me that it should be put back as it came out but I didn't. Everything else I took out I put back the same way but not for the valve lifters. I was also struggling with the timing and alignment of cam belt as it's my very 1st time to take on this type of job. Now the golf makes a noisy sound under the tappet cover...Can it be the valve lifters not being put back the same way as it was...
Please help.

You can put them back in any order and they'll go quiet after a while. there are many posts here with pictures of how to do the cam timing. Search and you will be rewarded.
