My Golf 2's RHS Front Wheel Bearing is packing up. I have bought new ones but have been told that unlike the rear ones - I cannot fit this myself as they need to be pressed out. Comments?

Who to take to in PTA? Estimates on price? Do they have to do alignment afterwards?

Thanks

Correct they have to be pressed out and the new ones pressed in. If you can take the hubs off yourself, take them to Lessan Engineering (Pta Central), good work at a reasonable price.
Because you have to take the hub out to press the wheel bearings, you will have to do some alignment afterwards. Unless you know someone with toe and camber guages :p

You can do the rears yourself, takes about 30min per side. No alignment to be done afterwards, golf rear axles do not have any alignmnet adjustment of them (ie solid), unless you shim the hub. :D
