1.8 -> 2.0 lt - Worth your while ?

Those who have had 2lt conversions to their 1.8 8v's
has it been what you expected ?

Is it worth the amount of money ?

How is reliability .. any problems ?

I'm seriously considering this conversion now.

Just saved up enough cash and wondering if its
worth it.

Well worth it.
Low end rpm is fairly torquey. There are no problems when the job is done properly. Don't expect a massive power increase from the 1.8L in standard form. Once you do the head work it's another story.

If I was you go for it. You won't be sorry.
If you're behind, you're slow. If you're in front, you're in my way.

Yes , if done properly , the gains in KW's is not that significant, but the gains in torque are !
Basically , you'll definately know that the motor has been worked after the coversion has been done .
But , as always , a 1.8 to 2.0 conversion should be a combination of changes to see the best results .
The fuel consumption will also increase !

Well the increase in fuel consumption is not really true. That depends how you drive. If flat footed all the time, yes it will increase the fuel consumption, however if you drive decently the fuel consumption will be just as good as the 1.8L or if not better when tuned properly.
If you're behind, you're slow. If you're in front, you're in my way.

Worth the money and then some

VERY reliable, 50 000kms of HARD driving and still uses NO oil

Very good conversion, power goes up slightly torque goes up LOTS

Your motor is still very new hey?
If it is a motor can use oil till its fully run in.
Also you motor could have just breathed the oil out, as hare working engines do.
Check to see that the oil consumption does not increase, it should stop almost altogether............

I know normal driving ..... you work and back under 5000rpm and its cool..... I also noticed when im racing, when I look in the rear view mirror I see smoke form the exhaust but nothing like ring smoke or anything....Just light puffs.....

Would this be the oil thing or could it be overfuelling or summin??

Yuor sure that you are not seeing things ???
Blue smoke = Oil
Black Smoke = Fuel

What I did for track days is run my breather pipe to a bottle and not back into the motor, so any oil that is breathed out does not land up as smoke.

who would be a good person to do the conversion in Cpt ,
anybody have any complaints for hyperformance cams , if not is it worth while for them to do the head , cams and tuning at the same time. This would al be on a Cti .
Whats the price like . Would this include things like recut vavles , guidlines , new lifter ect
