I want to know how a speaker box is build.

What do they mean when they say the box is build to spec? How do they work out what the spec should be? Do they work it out according to the size of your boot or the size of the speaker. What would be the best materials to use when building a box :D

I heard somewhere that they measure the box in liters, If so why?

AND WHY ARE THEY SO DAMM EXPENSIVE

If you buy a subwoofer, they give you a paper with , with the recommended size boxes in liters.

If you had maths in school then you can work this out.

the best material is Supawood or fibreglass.

Cause they need to be well/specifically built to ensure best sound. I have a .PDF manual on building various types of boxes downloaded from the Rockford site lemme know if you want it. MBQuarts has a very nice FAQ section on their site that I also found very enlightening.
I would like to apologize to anyone I have NOT offended.
Please be patient.
I will get to you shortly...

You can also download programs (I think the Kenwood website) that give the dimensions of the box you need to build, based on the thickness of the material you are using and what litreage you need.
The boxes they sell at sound shops are pretty good for most subs (Pioneer, Kenwood, Calibra, middle of the range stuff). However if you buy a 4grand subwoofer its best to put it in a custom made box.
I made one once out of plywood, wood glue, lots of screws and silcon sealant. Worked like a treat.

The only resone they do it in litres is cause you must have the volume of the bass that the speaker can make. Why for what car and what sub you wanna box for.

I'll contact you by E-mail. You will need Winzip to unzip the file and Acrobat reader to read the manual. But I've just sent you an E-mail.
