Cluster going crazy

Post by WallaBalla97 »

Hi Guys,

I need some advise: i have a jetta 3 2L 8V with a 276 cam running dictator management. But now the issue i have with my car when i switch the ignition in the needles are going crazy and when i start the cars starts yes but the moment the car get to normal operating temp it starts to go crazy and then when the car idles it dipes in between like it wants to die.

I did some fault finding and say it the plug that goes into the distributor there a fault with the wiring right there where it goes into the plug.

would it be advisable to just cut the plug off and solder a new one on there ? or should i just buy the new distributor ignition wire harness?

with that being said i am running bottle coil at the moment and i want to know if i change it to a 2 pin coil what changes am i going to have to make?

i cant see my car standing for more than three weeks i need help Gents.

How did you wire the distributor signal to Dicktator and then to rev counter?

Sounds like you got something wired incorrectly, causing cluster to go crazy.
