Good morning Ladies and Gents
I hope you all are good and keeping safe.
So I recently replaced my heater control valve and once I topped up the cooling system I noticed the plastic flange on the side of the engine block is leaking bad. I replaced that a few months ago, but now it seems like I need to replace it again.
Will replacing it with an aluminum flange work? Also, is there a decent sealant I can put on just to make sure it does not leak again?
I'm going on a road trip post Christmas and honestly don't feel for any issues on the way.t

I replaced the plastic flange on my HM (1.6 carburetor) with an aluminium flange. IMHO it's definitely worth it, if you can find one for your engine. The plastic ones always warp after some time.

Re: Leak - Plastic Flange from block to heater control valve.
I got mine from Goldwagen. I think it wasn't even twice the price of the plastic one.
Goldwagen is as good a starting point as any, for your hunt.
Edit: for my Mk 4 (AHF engine), no aluminium one exists. I had to put in a plastic one.
