Going Rate for Golf 7 Gti (2014) water pump + thermostat replacement

Post by synergyx »

Hi Guys

Always feel like the shops are out to screw us who dont know much the underside of our bonnets.

cars out of warranty now - and this will be my 4th water pump replacement (1st outside of dealer)
(another reason this car has left a bad taste in my mouth - almost 2 years on the dot and cooling system needs repairs)

being quoted just over 10K for parts and labour? is this about right?

thanks.

I can do it for around R6500 all in.

Aftermarket parts but decent quality. R10 and over seems excessive to me.

I did mine at the agents a few years back and was around 8k with OEM parts. 10k sounds excessive even with inflation....
