MK2 CE2 1-pin connectors Fusebox

Post by OEM+ »

Afternoon all,

Just wanted to check on some wiring please. Ive read multiple search results from the forum and google, but I'm still stumped on a few.
This is an ABF going into the MK2 with a 3-pin coil.

DICKTATOR:

Solid YELLOW and 1mm BLACK -> Air intake temp from sensor on Airbox
Solid PURPLE and 1mm BLACK -> Water temp ECU from 2 pin sensor on side of block

RED/WHITE and BLUE/GREY and 1mm BLACK-> TPS

YELLOW/BLACK -> Signal connection for 3-Pin Coil

GREEN -> Signal connection for Distributor

RED/YELLOW Fuel pump connection -> Wired to Fuse box RED/WHITE pin G1/08. (After spending lots of time looking for Red/yellow for fuel pump, it seems my connection is spliced with 2 wires, which according to a2 resources is for heated o2 sensor and fuel pump power(I have nothing in G1/03) - i've connected this all up and I'm getting signal from the Dicktator side all the way to the fuel pump via the fuse box - pls just confirm this is the correct connection (G1/08) to use.)

BROWN AND BROWN -> Injector negatives
RED/YELLOW small -> Injector positive
Solid BLUE -> ISV ECU control

Solid RED Dicktator? Does this go to Coil Positive

CAR:
FUEL: RED/WHITE, G1/08 to RED/YELLOW DICTATOR as above.

REVS: RED/BLACK - Tachometer signal pin G1/12 -> to coil negative connection under plastic cover above 3-pin connection on coil. The Older cluster cannot operate off of the BLUE/BLACK DICTATOR (5V?) without booster relay.

IGNITION: SMALL BLACK & BIG BLACK -> Ignition positive one of these is G1/04 (This is unconnected at this stage, does it join with DICTATOR Solid RED and then go to 3-pin coil Positive? and is this Switched 12v positive?)

DISTRIBUTOR:Hall sender, I have the green signal to Dictator, where do I get (+) and (-) for this from?

Other:
CE2 GREEN/WHITE and RED/BLACK, this terminated in a 2 pin terminal next to the fuse box, was this the original Dizzy connections? I couldn't find any place to connect it to though.

ISV - this seems to be a relay connection, in the engine bay its BLACK/YELLOW and BROWN - neither were connected. along with a 2pin connector BLACK and WHITE.
Is the BLACK/YELLOW above replaced by the DICTATOR BLUE? and what will the other connection on the ISV be? BROWN above?
THe BLACK and WHITE plug I found this: [https://vwgolfmk1.org.uk/forum/index.ph ... ump-wiring] is that correct in my case?

In summary, un connected are
BLACK SMALL AND BIG from CAR Ignition positive
RED BIG DICTATOR
3-PIN COIL (+) and (-)
Hall sender (+) and (-)
ISV

Thanks for any help..

I have some manuals and wiring diagrams for the ABF that I used when I did my 60-2 ABF install. Send a pm with contact details if you interested.

Lemme look through the archives. I pulled together a spreadsheet years ago to map the Dictator STD to CE1 wiring for my ABF install. Might need to adapt it slightly for CE2 - assuming I can find the spreadsheet.

Re: MK2 CE2 wiring with Standard Dicktator: Resolved

This is how I have done it...

CAR:
G1/04 Black -> Ignition switched 12v
G1/08 Red/White -> To fuel pump via Relay
G1/12 Red/Black -> Rev counter to clocks

Dicktator:
Thin red/yellow Splice for Positive for Fuel injectors and ISV Positive
Thick Red/Yellow Splice Coil positive and Fuel Pump -> Red/White-> G1/08
Thin Yellow/Black Signal for coil
Thin green Signal for hall sender
Thick Red, connects to Black-> G1/04

Hall Sender:
Red power connects with thick red (Dicktator) to Black G1/04 from car
Green signal from dicktator
Negative spliced from Dicktator 1mm black

Coil:
Power from Thick/red yellow Dicktator
Signal yellow black from Dicktator
Negative to Tappet Cover
Revs from G1/12 to top cover negative above 3-pin plug

Black/yellow, Brown and Black fro Digifant relay I have terminated. Black and White 2 pin terminal for ISV from the same relay I have terminated.

Offtopic - was it an Oak Greek MK2 that you were busy restoring?

Re: MK2 CE2 1-pin connectors Fusebox

Post by OEM+ »

Update for some more help from the people with MK2 CE2 fuseboxes. I have everything back in the fusebox now but I have 3 1-pin connectors that I want to check on.

P/03 - white/green -> I believe this is a 1-pin connection to connect up wiring for heated mirrors? Its a bridged terminal open on my side, its also linked to the degfogger
P/07 - grey/blue -> Defogger light switch, also bridged terminal.

These 2 look like they could connect to each other? one is a clear terminal and the other is a red terminal.

U2/09 - yellow/red -> again another 1-pin terminal bridged to the main connection coolant temp reading? is this open for another gauge input by any chance?

If any of you MK2 owners know off hand or could check under the dash on these 3 1-pin connections that would be helpful.

Also the earth connections on the side of the main fusebox - I have four connections, please check.

Thanks very much :hi:

Judging by the build thread you are doing quite well with the wiring.

Nice work.
