Polocup 2.0 7800rpm ecu
Good evening guys and gals,
I am in the process of removing my EFI MR TURBO management as it has been giving me Grey hair from day one. I want to replace it with a short mp9 harness (loom) and 2.0polocup ECU. Before I jsut spend the money I need to confirm if this ECU will be plug n play on my 2e motor and short harness? Any and all advice is welcome. The caddy is a daily driver not going to be racing however I enjoyed the power she made.
I want to thank one and all that will contribute positively to this thread.

Re: Polocup 2.0 7800rpm ecu
Polocup is tuned for a 276° camshaft. If you don't have one installed it will have tuning issues.
2ndly the wiring is for MP9 not 2E (Digifant), you will need to add all the missing components needed to make the system work, like the MP9 throttle and the MAP sensor, etc.
Lastly make sure the system can use the dizzy for the rpm trigger. If you need the 60-2 wheel on the crank it will quickly add loads of unnecessary hassle to the swap as the 2E is not equipped.
If the required parts are not there I think moving to a different aftermarket system might be simpler and lots cheaper.

Re: Polocup 2.0 7800rpm ecu
Thanks for the quick responses guys I have an Mp9 intake on the head not looking to spend too much though so I will rather buy a 1.6ecu and have it mapped. I have a new map sensor, also have the 4 window dizzy on as well as an mp9 throttle.

Its even more unruly for street driving then.
Keep us posted of your progress.
It sounds like you are most ways there.

Re: Polocup 2.0 7800rpm ecu
If it was my car I would buy a new aftermarket management seeing as the car already has all the needed wiring done to one point. Will be as simple as swapping all the wires to their relevant places on the new ecu plug. Much simpler and quicker than having someone remap a 1.6 ecu and you have so much more tuning capabilities.

Re: Polocup 2.0 7800rpm ecu
Chucker, I understand where you coming from when you say it's easier to just put in a new management. However with that being said remapping is easier for me as I have the map stored already on my pc. My golf one had the same setup running mp9 and I had no issues from day 1. The buggers stole that car. After market management also means I have to dyno, map and tune again. With the lock down and a new born in the house I don't think that's the way to go though.
Just my opinion and appreciate your response

If you already have everything you need bud then go for it. Mp9 is solid as you know and you wont have issues. The lockdown is a hassle for sure, cant get anything done in this time.Abu wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 10:46 pm Chucker, I understand where you coming from when you say it's easier to just put in a new management. Re: Polocup 2.0 7800rpm ecu
Thanks to all the advise given. It was a great help. I managed to purchase a mk3 gti 2.0 ECU plugged it in and I'm back on the road. As smooth as silk.

Re: Polocup 2.0 7800rpm ecu
Hey guys, I know this post has been dealt with but pointless starting a new one only to ask 1 question which will not turn into a discussion either. I would REALLY appreciate feedback please.
I have a late 1996 Golf mk3 gti 2.0L 8v AFW with Mp9 , Polocup ecu ,freeflow etc but a standard cam (bought the car with Polocup in)
Obviously I have overfuelling issues which is why i want a different map, and then an erratic idle (not sure if polocup without a cam has an effect on this)
Already spoken to Allen to put a standard map on,but
are there other maps besides these 2 which will work for me but also at the same time give the (for lack of a better word) "performance" of the Polocup?
I can't go the management route right now though
