G6 GTI Timing and Tensioner

Post by marthiered »

We did our 2010 golf 6 gti's timing but didn't replace tensioner cause it was replaced a short while ago. The problem is the timing jumped. Is there a way to get pressure in the tensioner before we start the car. Im so scared that we are gonna bent some valves

If you are concerned, the only reasonable approach is to replace the tensioner with the latest revision. With the retainer removed, it will place the necessary tension on the guides (and chain). How did the timing jump if the tensioner was recently replaced?
