Airbag light on

Post by DJ7 »

So I had some issues with power to the driver door dying and then also needed to have starter refurbed.

Took it away to an auto electrician to refurb starter and sort out the door. he sorted both out and ever since then the airbag fault light is on the dash now. He did say I can take it back to him if it didn't work. Was just wondering if anyone knows what the cause could be and if it is a quick fix that I could maybe sort out myself. He wasn't anywhere close to the airbags or anything like that and battery was disconnected when he did all the work.

Worst case scenario if I can't fix it myself, then I will need to just make time to go around to him to sort it out.

Get a scan done on the car. Check the threads for VCDS/VAG register and contact the person closest to you, seeing that you are in CPT.

Let them scan and clear error codes.

That would be the first point

There is no such a thing as a manual reset. You need to plug in a scan tool, se what the fault is, fix th fault and then clear it.
If it was a battery dead or battery swop then just clear the fault. But scantool is the only way.
