Coilovers for mk1

Hi All

I have a VW MK1 2010 model. My shocks and springs needs to be replaced. I currently have a 60/40 drop. Will it be better/cheaper to get coilovers or replace the springs and shocks?

entry level coilovers usually range from 5k upwards
