H7 globes

Post by Zoltan2222 »

Hi

Can anyone suggest a better (more robust) H7 globe, maybe LED or something.
Currently using Osram nightbreaker unlimited, but they keep popping.

Enjoy

Used the Hella daymakers and night visions before and they seemed to last
It is an ingenius solution to a problem that should have never existed in the 1st place...

Cars with Auto Lights have a bad time with NightBreakers, the increased pressure and temperature doesn't enjoy the full life span.

Thanks guys, I did some reading aswell, I will need to check my altenator also. But still think I need to try a different type globe aswell. The car has a way off switching on the headlights when the starter is runnig (sometimes) seems its a safety feature to protect the ecu, as the lights then burn excessive current

Which of these H7 globes are the whitest and brightest? Looking for a good balance of whiteness and brightness that will also last

Did some testing
When starting the car the voltage drops to 10V (its a diesel) but still starts easy.
Then when at idle the voltage is 14.33 and at 1000rpm its 14.34 and at 2000rpm its 14.36V.
Asume this is okay?

That is still ok , the starting amps will cause a volt drop .

White on the ground with better than stock will be Philips WhiteVison and Osram Cool Blue,

Whiter look in headlight and ground, normal performance is Philips CrystalVsion Ultra.

Maybe get a good quality LED Unit?

Seems any globe in the Polo has about a 6-8 month lifetime... very annoying! Mostly Nightbreakers but even the rear globes go often, why could this be?

Nightbreakers are also not that bright, what is better and wont cost an arm or leg?

All the globes in the Sante Fe are still original from the factory after 5 and a bit years

Do not touch the bulb with your bare fingers, wipe with CLEAN cloth and or cleaning alcohol afterwards, or latex gloves.

Used Osram nightbreakers, after 3rd pair , I switched to Osram Silverstars II , cleaned, no issues on both pairs, 2 per headlight for A4
MK2's dont die, they just get faster!!

Technically the quartz glass used by Philips lasts longer.
