Hi
I will be purchasing a new vehicle soon and am considering getting one of the above chips installed solely for the purpose of the anti theft programs they offer.
Might be a good investment in south Africa. May do better than a tracker to stop the thieves.
Anyone tried them out and uses them on a daily basis?
Thank you

Do not rely on it, the guys just put on a bridge which fools the ecu

This is what the Apr website says
https://www.goapr.com/products/antitheft.html
Purpose
Nearly all other traditional methods of anti-theft, such as alarms, in-line kill switches, and steering wheel locks, have turned out to be no trouble for novice and professional thieves. With the Anti-theft System, unless he knows how to reprogram the Bosch Motronic ECU, he'll have no hope of moving your car, even if handed the key! The program will allow the car to attempt to crank, but will not allow the engine to fire. At $199 it is a bargain compared to other less effective methods.

Re: APR /revo / unichip anti theft features
Thats just a sales gimmic...... Todays thieves come prepared they even steal high end Mercs in seconds by using a preped ecu that is swopped out
Most have all the bypass tools needed on hand
Go visit your nearest key coder they will show you how easy it is to get past immoboliser systems even revo / apr....
I had issues with my Landrovers immoboliser system recently and got quoted of R4500 from Landrover to sort it out and was told it will take days the car needs to be booked in etc etc etc
It took my local key coder 30 seconds to overide the system and recode with a new remote for less than R500 bucks....... Witj the special tools / dongles they have.

My take: insure your car proper, take precaution but more importantly - enjoy your car. If they want to steal it, they will steal it. Maybe hijack it. There's not theft proof system.

Re: APR /revo / unichip anti theft features
As much as I do understand your concern, just insure the car. If they want it they will get it this bastard.
As long as ones life is spared, and the car insured there's no need to stress about adding countless so called anti-theft units. Remember they all being installed by humans which simply means thieves will definitely no how to disable them
