There is a subtle difference between driving cars hard and enjoying their power and abusing it.
i drive mine hard - often. But i never abuse them. Allowing wheel spin and revving it into the limiter on a regular basis border on abuse. leave the TC on - it is there for a reason and protection. Wheel spin does not make for good traction or winning races. unless you are competing in a spinning contest - in which case you bought the wrong car anyway.
DSG are such good and intuative systems that I rarely find a need to actually go to full manual, just stick it in sport and let it do it's thing. maybe a manual would have suited you better...

Yeah i fully understand, i guess i just have to get used to this car as it is my first dsg.....well auto for that matter. I mostly use manual when i want to get the DSG ' farts ' after ive done the muffler delete in which case i mostly just short shift. Yeah personally i found the car not to be faster off the line with TC off, tried it with TC off a couple of times as my buddies told me the car will be faster off the line which doesn't really make sense. So just an update, i spoke to the workshop manager yesterday from N1 City Barons. He told me that he drove the car and experienced the gear grinding mostly in 3rd and 4th gear and more prominently on downshifts, they sent a video clip to VWSA to get feedback on what could've caused the issues, but they said they are not sure what caused this problem. He told me that they are ordering parts today as they need to replace the 3rd and 4th gear synchro's.

The DQ200 is really not a great GB for a performance car. I would push for the whole GB to be replaced if possible.

Agreed, well when i get the car back hopefully in the next 2 weeks and the issue is not fixed im going to push them to replace the whole gearbox. Hopefully this won't be a regular thing of me going back to VW for GB issues

Hopefully not. It's a case of letting them know that you aren't going to accept a patchwork solution. Make sure to test it thoroughly once the repair is complete before taking it back into your possession.

So new update, got the car back yesterday evening, gearbox is working 100% with no grinding or clunking noises and with the updated dsg software the gear changes feel way smoother, the mechanic showed me pictures of my 3rd and 4th gear synchros and you could see how badly the teeth were grinded off . On the way out yesterday on the highway i felt that if i cruise at 120km/h in 7th gear in D and give a bit of gas the revs would climb but the car wont surge forward, realised the clutches were slipping in 3rd 5th and 7th gears, today the car started slipping in 3rd and in every other gear up to 7th . Took the car back and now they are going to replace the clutches under warranty as well, weirdly though when i took the car in for the gearbox repair there was never a sign of clutches slipping. Slowly starting to think buying this car was not the best idea, but guess it's just a stroke of bad luck .

So found out today that they checked both my clutches and said they are still 100% and not worn or burnt at all, apparently the clutch shims had to be replaced now which caused the clutches to slip after the gearbox was put back on which makes sense i guess. Getting the car back on Friday after not having the car for a month and a half Hoping the car will not give any issues anymore .

I know Polo 5 and
It is the only 7 speed DSG box with 250 N.m maximum torgue, so I guess every VW passenger vehicle rated at that maximum torgue is probably using DQ200.

So basically if your car has 250nm torque or less on it's spec sheet and it has a 7 speed DSG gearbox then it will be the DQ200 Dry Clutch variant as all the other 7 speeds are wet clutch.

There is a build tag on every car and itnis duplicated on the owners manual. The buld tag will show you which engine and gearbox and all the options installed on your car.

Can you not get rid of your car as it seems that you have never had the opportunity to actually enjoy your car?

My question now is, what could've caused my 3rd gear synchro ring and hub to have worn out so badly at 23k km? I can't seem to find any explanations online and i've searched countless DSG discussion forums .

So got my car back yesterday and what do you know the clutch slipped immediately once i gave the car some throttle in 3rd gear outside the VW dealer , went back and they begged me to drive the car for 1000km's to get the DSG box to adapt so i agreed. Got back home while driving fairly chilled in sport mode with constant 3rd/5th gear clutch slip and got a massive clutch smell coming from the bottom of the car. Decided to take a decent drive from Plattekloof side through Parklands all the way to Melkbos and back to the n7 on the way home and mid way through the trip after just keeping the car in drive mode the clutches weren't slipping anymore . Put the the car in sport mode on a straight and gave it the beans in 3rd and damn the car started picking up like a rocket straight away without any sign of slippage. Now theres no more clutch slip and the new DSG software is making the car feel like a totally different car . Saw the Job card and saw they only replaced the sweating clutch seals.
