Post by KEVIN PAKKIRI »

Hi guys,

I accidentally removed the fuse for the airbag while the igniton was on. Now the dashboard says 'faulty airbag'. How do I go about resolving this issue?

You will probably need to do it via VAGCom, I used to reset airbag lights in my B6 A4 using a fong kong cable and freeware VAGCom software.

You could try disconnecting the battery for a couple hours or overnight, but chances are you'll need VAGCOM

Battery disconnect will not clear an airbog issue, as a matter of fact it will create others rather than solve the one you have. In theneast rand I can assist you after hours or on a weekend. Send me a PM.

Stephan,

If it's not too much trouble, I'd be interested to hear more about the additional issues that a battery disconnect can cause (seeing that I drive a Mk4 as well).

Need to be plugged into diagnostics. No way to guess. The flash is just when it checks the system, then finds the fault and leaves the light on. Helps nothing towardsnfinding what the fault is.
