Clucth for AGU & FFZ combo

Post by Zoltan2222 »

Who will be able to help me get the correct clutch kit? I have done that "google" thing but with little success, have done about 4hours of reading for almost nothing.
According to Valeo the AGU engine uses a 228mm clutch kit, whereas my HM engine uses a 210mm, I am going to keep my FFZ gearbox for now so do I keep the 210mm clutch or do I need to buy a 228mm one?

You need to keep the 210mm clutch, pressure plate and flywheel.

Thanx @PapaJo. Where can I donwload a standard map for the AGU engine (dicktator)? Just to see if the engine is okay and to drive it to the dyno

Spoke to a mechanic I know and he said that the shaft in the FFZ gearbox cannot push the bearing on the agu clutch assembly, VW an Audi do there clutch in reverse to each other.
How is this overcome?

Everybody above here gave the correct advise. So you buy the biggest available clutch for that gearbox setup or basically for a CTI golf. This will fit the engine and the gearbox and work correctly.
You are not using the clutch or whatever that engine was installed in originally's setup.
And unless you are really cranking the HP up form stock you don't even need to use a puck friction plate.
I used the stock setup on 200hp and never had a slip issue.

@PapaJo and @panic-mechanic, can the ffz box bolt straight onto the agu engine?

And if you guys maybe can maybe paste the link to that agu into caddy topic please, i cannot find it again and I want to start with a list of everything i need now.

I only now see that I should have bought an apu instead, but too late now

Yes, it was mentioned higher up in a post that the AGU bolts right on to the FFZ box. You need to use the 210mm clutch, pressure plate and flywheel with it.

This link is easy to find, bear in mind he is using a cable shift box and not a FFZ box.

Contact the guys at GW De La Rey and they will sort you out with the engine mounting on front of motor. The other 3 mountings, use your existing ones now on gearbox under the car, gearbox mounting under battery tray and mounting at the start.

By the "front" mounting, you mean the one on the driver side of the car?
I am in the Vaal Triangle, so I will contact GW vdbj, I hope they can help me with the mount, does anyone maybe have a part number to help ease the process, please.

Yes the one at the timing belt end on motor. You will only get it from GW De La Rey as they make them.
