Hi All,
It has been long since i posted but im back.
I have a 16v with RXi Throttles running on a 60-2 Dicktator.
I recently changed the plugs on the car.
Today morning it battled to start- just swings.( it never ever did that before)
Finally when it started it idles and then cuts of as soon as you accelerate.
After 15mins of trying to get it to start it finally does and was ok.
While driving its like stalling/missing when the accelerator is pressed but then comes right at high speed.
What could be the issue? Fuel pump, fuel filter?
Thanks.

Re: MK1 16v With RXI Throttles morning start issues
I take it from your comments "It never did this before" that you had no issues with starting before you changed the plugs.
Did you replace with the same heat range plugs as the old ones and plug gaps set the same as before?
Are you setup for MAP or TPS?
60-2 with spark distributed from distributor or wasted spark coil? Check rotor and cap to be in good condition and crack free if you are using distributor setup.
Did you check that all plug wires, cable connectors, vacuum line if running MAP is intact?
If running distributor, check the plastic plug on the distributor and check that the thin wires' insulation inside is not shaved through by the chopper blade if the plastic plug is not properly secured to the distributor casing.
I think your timing has moved, possibly due to plug lead not properly secured, plug gap different to previous or different type of plug or heat range.
Try fitting your old plugs back and see if the stalling/missing is still present or gone.
To check fuel pressure or pump, you need to put a pressure gauge on the fuel line to check fuel pressure. Unlikely that it is fuel pressure as you worked on the plugs, but worth checking though. Can't guess the fault, you need to revert back or trace back and eliminate one thing after the other to narrow down to where the fault lies.

Re: MK1 16v With RXI Throttles morning start issues
Thanks for the reply...
I have replaced the plugs with the exact same plugs.
It never did this after i changed the plugs, it started couple days after that.
the car is running with TPS.
It does not have a distributor and we have checked the wires and its all fine.
Im also thinking it is the timing... Will this have to be set on the dicktator ???

Re: MK1 16v With RXI Throttles morning start issues
If there is no distributor it should be impossible for the timing to have changed.

Ok, as Panic said after your reply mentioned running without distributor. Timing could not have moved then.golf_pillaya wrote: ↑Wed Oct 24, 2018 7:02 am Thanks for the reply...

I suggest you check all your plug and wire connections as it could have been not properly clipped back in. Recap all your actions and what was or could have been disturbed during the sparkplug change out.
Did you do a fuel pressure check as suggested on my previous post?

What is the outcome on this? Sorted or not sorted?
