Hey guys.
1988 Mk2 16v jetta with power steering. How difficult is it to replace the rack ends/tie rods? .
Must you remove the whole steering rack like the Haynes manual says?
Or is there another trick to replace it without damage to the steering rack?
Advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

There is a tool specifically to undo those nuts which makes it easier to do. But hell either way.
