Dicktator injector driver

Post by Pynoxim »

Oh hi,

So I've been diagnosing this POS Dicktator all day and it seems after trying to figure out why it won't start for 3 hours I've come to the conclusion that it's not pulsing the injectors. I've got fuel pressure, I've got spark, I've got Trigger signal and Dicktator is flashing the green light to tell me that it's pulsing the injectors but no fuel comes out of them, I currently have the rail out pointing at the head, I crank the ignition and not a single drop of fuel comes out.

I'm assuming that the injector driver is dead, if so, which component on the board is it, I'd like to repair it myself if possible.

Are you trying to fire low or high impedance injectors?. I am assuming you have power to the other side of the injector?.

They're stock VW APK injectors so I'm assuming low impedance. Yeah I've got 12v to the 12v common, even when I run the injectors straight to the battery and crank the motor, I get signal from the Crank Pickup and both lights flash but the injectors don't pulse. I've also got good fuel pressure. I've dropped the Dicktator off with Ferroli, so away it goes to the land of Chris Dicks, and it will be back in 2 weeks.

Standard injectors will be high impedance.

Injectors that a high impedance 12-15 ohm requires less amps to fire. They are also called saturation injectors.
Low impedance injectors 2-3 ohm requires a lot more amps and basicaly a differnt way to drive them. Called peak and hold injectors.
Most aftermarket managements are not designed or made to drive peak and hold. The Amps required makes the drivers very expensive.
