Hey everyone,
Just got me a Jetta 2 csx 1.8
Since this morning I got a humming noise from the front and would like to know if anyone can pinpoint the issue.
Symptoms:
When I accelerate straight I get the humming sound (that faulty bearing sound) but if I turn the steering literally 2cm to the right the noise reduces drastically and if I move back 2cm the sound is back. Also get another weird humming sound only when I turn right on a bend whether I’m accelerating or not.
Inner cv maybe?
Bearings maybe?
Please dnt day gearbox
Thanks

duck duck duck gearbox!
But that sounds like a wheel bearing, check it out quickly or take it to a shop to check.

Re: Front end humming sounds
That humming sounds you describe sounds like wheel bearing as Panic & DCmk4 said.
