1.4TSI DSG - Fan almost always come on

I have a 2014 Tiguan 1.4 TSI Bluemotion (DSG 118kw)

It drives fine and has no issues, but I am curious as to whether this is normal. Firstly when driving the temperature will be constant between 105 and maybe 111 degrees. Is this the normal range? Seems a bit high?

Another reason I think it may be a bit high, basically always when I stop (unless i drove short distances) the fan will come on as soon as I switch the car off. From what I read people say "its to cool down the turbo", but is it meant to happen basically every time?

I've already had to remove the Catalytic converter because it got 'clogged' (Vw wanted R38k to replace it). The fan and temperature behaviour didnt change before/after changing the cat...

Any ideas/comments on this would be appreciated. Only had the car since January so not sure what is normal. Just never had a car's fan work so much as this one before

It might be the thermostat, just check if your cooling system is 100%.

Where are you seeing this temp? On the cluster? If so you have an issue. Thermostat most likely or pump failure. Cluster should show 90

I look on the cluster where I can see fuel economy and so on, oil temperature, normally runs between 105 and 110, I have a polo tsi for the past 2 weeks (while VW is trying to ffind another issue on it) and its temp is between 95 and 99 no matter how hard I drive it. Fan has never come on. Must be something with the Tiguan I have.

This is what the VW dealer say "Daar is geen fout gevind met die olie temperatuur nie. Dit is n hoe verigting turbo engine en die olie temperatuur is normal by 120 grade . As jy kilometres wat al afgele is, in agneem. Die fan wat hardloop na die engine afgeskakkel is, is om die temperatuur in die verkoeling stelsel af tekoel en die engine te beskerm. Die fan skakkel af na om en by 1 tot 2 minute."

The car is on 90000km now, never heard of a car that will run hotter as the km's go on?

Anyway, I will take it to another dealer and find out a second opinion on it, the VW Menlyn is a disaster of a dealership.
