Golf 6 GTI dsg dropping out of gear

Hi Guys
I had this problem with my GTI where I would drive at any speed and the car would drop out of gear and D Spanner comes up on the dash, no engine fault light. Sometimes its stuck in first and I can move off the road and sometimes it stops dead. I then have to switch the car off and on again for it to work. VW does not pickup any logs. A month later the timing chain goes and VW replaced the chain and redid the head at their cost. All perfect for 5 months, now its doing the same again. Any ideas why this would happen?. I am running the latest software according to VW on the DSG.
Please help. Im stressing that it is the timing chain again.

Welcome!
Can't see how the timing chain would be connected to the gearbox issues. With those symptoms, I'd be worried about mechatronic issues.

Ok thanks guys. Vw found the gearbox faulty and will replace it with one they took off another car. Im happy as long as I get sone warranty with.
