didnt do it myself had a mechanic do it
they used the 4v mark

U rather change ur mechanic then bud.
As far as i know bah engines use the 2v mark.

Timing was set to the correct now but still keeps idling up amd down and switches the car starts fine

Whats the history on the car? Was the engine disassembled or u just had a leaking rear main seal leaking?
If the engine was disassembled, then follow the above link to get the cam to crank timing set properly first.
And now,
If the rear main seal was fitted with the crank being at the 4v mark, thats not gonna work.
The crank must be on the 2v position when the rear main seal is being installed as 2v is TDC and 4v is NOT TDC.
U need to remove the seal again, set the crank to TDC which is the 2v position, then refit the seal using the plastic aligning tool.
