Rather save up the money and fix his current setup. Or sell the car as is and buy and NA car.

I lol'ed.

It's not Lego.

The FAIL will be strong here.

The long version.

Completely different engines. Nothing between the two will fit properly firstly. Second, how does he propose to get the engine electronics to get the engine to work? If by some work of engineering genius the engine works (complete disregard of compression ratios and basic engine knowledge), then the rest of the issues that would need resolution to get the fuel injection to work would require massive changes and custom made everything. Then it would still need tuning.

You see where I'm going?

Maybe it could work with a carb bolted on it. :troll:

It's a valid question and like panic said, Answer is NO!

Even carb bolt on should not be a thought

Best advice, if your friend is not able to finance the repairs, sell car as is and buy a cheapie till him can recoup funds again. at least he'll be mobile.

I apologize for the use of sarcasm I'm my previous post.

It's just that I have been asked similar questions by laaities too many times to count. It seems to me that the misconception of how easy it is to fix, and therefore also modify a car is widespread. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen cars in my town that stand for a long time due to a "mechanic friend" stripping something to pieces only to be unable to put it back together. The wasted time and money instantly makes the poor car uneconomical to repair.

UPDATE.......the cylinder head has been stripped off.....piston tops are covered in oil... especially cylinder 4....could this be the rings...we checked intercooler and boost pipes for excessive oil..but not more than a dessert spoon of oil came out of intercooler

Have the head pessure tested and looked at to see whether it is the head.

Did he do a compresion test before removing the head?
