Citi Golf Tail Lights Issues

i have a 1991 citi golf , it has the square tail lights which i recently replaced with new spec velocity tail lights. i tried wiring them myself but made the mistake of taking the wires out of the black adapter. apon realizing this flop i decided to buy the tail light adapter which connects the old adapter to the new spec lights adapter, i need help getting these wires connected right. the adapter has numbers on them and i managed to connect the one side that i did not remove the wires from, the tail light works but the indicator light flashes on the same light as the park light, the reverse , indicator and brake light doesn't work. i really need assistance getting this wired up properly. is there some diagram or quick methiod i copuld use to get this stuff wired up correctly or am i missing something.
