Oil Leak

Post by Wolfburger »

Hey Guys

Just an inquiry if anyone might know or experienced this before.

So i recently started spotting oil leaking from my car its a clear thin oil and coming from the left hand side of the car where the gearbox is located, checked last night and saw just above the gearbox and there was oil sitting on the box i could not locate the leak as it was dark

any possible places where this leak could be coming from ?

Hi PoloMike thanks for the response

I honestly do not know, I have done some googling now and seems to be a hydraulic system and whilst googling saw a few possible issues as per google and other UK forums, they all lead to the leak to a faulty Clutch Master Cylinder or slave i could be wrong but atleast i can start looking into that area

i would go with hydraulic fluid if its thin and clear. Gearbox oil has a certain smell to it and is generally a brownish colour. Engine oil is obvious to spot.

Correct!, I will have a look at my Brake fluid reservoir to see for any changes to confirm if the leak is coming from any of the cylinders or hoses in between

Thanx Mike you of great assistance!
