Caddy gearbox

Post by Caddy11 »

Hi all.

I am told that all 2l vw caddy tdi gearboxes from 2010 to 2017 are the same. However I cannot find such a replacement box and since mine is totally destroyed/irreparable I am looking for alternatives.

Now the question is - will a 2 l golf tdi 5 speed box fit in the caddy ???

Not having really worked with a caddy that new but I'd say the chances are pretty big

A buddy swopped his 2015 Caddy 2.0 TDI 'box with one he found from a Golf 5 TDI. As far as I know it was a straight swop.

No idea where you are based. My crown pin came out and took most of the casing with it. This guy fixed it for me, if he cant fix it he will find one that will fit.

With VW the car model isn't important, because the gearboxes are designed rather for an engine or range of engines.

Try find a car at the breakers with the same engine and that one should be OK. Otherwise look carefully at the gearbox casing to find the gearbox model code and match that.
