Mk1 1.4 2007 carb water disappears
Hi there..
My mk1 1.4 carb gives me hard time with the coolant , first I've overall the engine and it was running smooth but after I've connected the heater it burst my wealsh pugs / wash plugs so I got them replaced no water leaks ... NOW when I run the engine everything seem fine until coolant overflow and come out from that hole in the bottle....I've bought and fitted the bottle and the cap but still it does the same ....what can I do :bang:
Thanks in advance

This above and explain how the heater pipes were connected. Post pictures or describe piping routes. It could be the cause. Did motor run fine before you connected the heater pipes? I think your water line routes is not correct now, causing flow to be incorrect and not circulating and then motor overheats and water boils and push out on cap and little pipe.Supervan II wrote: ↑Sat Jun 16, 2018 9:41 am Have you had the head tested?

How did you replace the welsh plugs? If you've used some kind of sealant you might have blocked off pipes causing overheating and over pressurizing.

yeah you are not going to block off a water port with a bit of sealant. The channel is pretty much huge behind there.

To me it sounds like there is a issue with how the pipes are connected(in the wrong places) also it generally takes a lot of force to burst a Welsh plug. So there is something seriously wrong.

Take the hose of your expansion tank while the car is running, if the water is trickling out instead of a solid stream, replace your waterpump internals

Re: Mk1 1.4 2007 carb water disappears
Check if both of your water pipes on your radiator are getting hot if the one is cold then your thermostat is faulty, also as panic said check if your radiator fan is working, also check the small water pipe on your water bottle if that is blocked your water also wont circulate and cause overheating.
