Tyres query for i10- non vw related

Post by ahmedy »

So guys, I know this is not vw related but this forum has always been a helpful to me with any car related issues

My query:
I have a 2010 Hyundai i10 which come with 7j steel wheels. My one wheel is buckled and a friend gave me two of his steel rims from a Hyundai accent however these are 7.5j. Would I be fine to fit my normal 165/60/r14 tyres to these? I plan to use the two steel rims given to me in the front and my current best two steel ones at the back.

Please help me guys and I hope I worded my self clearly, if not, let me know

Thanks

I wouldnt really run mixed rim sizes, but if YOLO, fit the wider ones to the back for some stance.

How Fubar is the buckled wheel? Most tyre shops can bang a steel rim back into shape for a minimal amount. My local shop charges like R100 to do it.

It can be repaired however since I did get these for nothing, I thought how bad can it be to run 7.5j infront and 7j in the back. I won't run different size tyres.

https://www.wheel-size.com/

pretty sure the i10 never had 7j wheels, especially not steelies

regardless put the wider ones on the back if the tyres dont stretch too much.
It is an ingenius solution to a problem that should have never existed in the 1st place...

Seen plenty i10's with steelies and plastic hubcaps, even brand new ones on showroom floors.
Whether they are 7J, I have no idea, though.

Minimum tire width on a 5J is 155(max 185), and 165 for a 5.5j(max 195).

If you have a 165 or 175 Tyre then you good to go and well in safe perimeters. still far from stretching

Will look visually different if the ET/offset of the steelies are different which can be expected since i10 has a narrower space from fender to shock than the accent.

Put it on and check.

Yip, just check the offsets , that the rim doesn't protrude the wheel arch or rubs against the shock otherwise you notice the difference between front and back

Thanks @ICE KING

I did input the specs onto a wheel calc which shows it to be fine.

Yes tyre on rim is fine(1 aspect), the ET would be the other aspect

The ET on the I10 is really crappy, test fit the proposed rim on the vehicle first, you more than likely will find it will touch the shocks and the liners when turning
