Fuses - MK6 TSI Comfortline

Post by YegsTC »

Hi guys,

Please could you help me.

My gf has a 2013 Mk6 TSI Comfortline and the headlight warning light/ "Check lights" meassge comes up every now and then. When I check, the fuse has burnt.
When this started, there were 20amp fuses in there. Changed them and all was fine for a while. I have also changed the globes.

Last week, it happened again and she took it to an auto electrician and he put in 2 10amp fuses. Yesterday I drove the car and saw that the indicators are now not working and one of the 10 amp fuses are burnt.

I searched online and found the following in regards to the correct fuse ratings.

What I need to know is, what are the correct fuse sizes to use on this car.

TIA

Does the fuse melt or is a clean pop. 20 amp is plenty so either there is a short in there or the incorrect wattage globes.
If the fuses are melted it means a bad contact somewhere so have a good look at the connectors to the globe.
for a 55 watt globe you only use 2.61 amp at 12 v. it is even lower at 13.8 v which most cars run when the engine is running.

here use this calculator in future

Hopefully they are better than before, VW/Audi owners manuals were notorious for being completely wrong when it came to fuse layout.

Hi guys,

Used the above fuses. Seems to have rectified.

The 10 amp was a clean pop. Using H7 Hella bulbs.
