Hi All.
I would appreciate some perspective on this one please.
I have a Vivo 2015 1.4 Trendline with 31000 km's on the clock. Fuel used BP unleaded.
At times I experience a pinging noise on acceleration. I would be accelerating for instance in third gear with rev counter around 2500 revs and my speed around 60km's. A pinging noise would be heard for a very short period before it then disppears. This could be evident under both light or heavy acceleartion.
However it bears pointing out that such pinging is not always consistently heard. There are times where the car would accelerate just fine across a variety of engine revs with no pinging noise evident.
I have reported such to the agents on the vehicles last service who reported that they could not replicate the problem and that all was appearing as should on the engine diagnostics.
My question is would such a scenario be considered normal for these types of vehicles.
With many thanks
Dave.

Re: Polo Vivo Pinging
Try an octane booster. if it goes away it is probably pinging. If not then you are hearing something else.
