Good day
Please help, I recently had to replace the battery on my polo 9N 1.6 and since then my airbag light stays on. I read on previous threads that is just needs to be reset. Because I know for a fact that there was No light or air bag malfunction prior to the battery demise. I've tried leaving the negative battery terminal off over night and resetting all the fuses with no luck. I'm trying my best to stay away from the dealers because I know they're gonna spin me story just to make a quick buck or rip me off.
Please help anyone in or around the Centurion area who maybe have the tools to reset this freaking thing.
It's all up in my face......

Re: Airbag light must go
Airbag fault lights are hard codes so won't be reset by unplugging the battery, as you say they need to be reset by using VAGCom via the OBDII port. There are plenty guys on here that should be able to assist.

Re: Airbag light must go
Good day all.
I'm new here, so forgive me for asking a new question in this thread as I'm clueless as to where to post a new thread... (Any help would be appreciated in this regard)
I'm driving a 2014 Polo 1.6 TDI and the airbag light just came on randomly. Went to the dealership and they reset it saying the log report didn't show anything wrong with the airbag system/components. So 3 weeks down the line whilst driving on a gravel road the light comes on again...
What could be the cause of this? As I'm not keen on going to the dealership again unless I can ask them to look at something specific like a bad connector, wiring etc.
Many thanks in advance.

Re: Airbag light must go
Bad connector under one of thenfront seats is the most common reason for it

Re: Airbag light must go
What will be the best way to fix the issue? Replace the connector or just spray some Q20/Electrocleen?
If done and I get the airbag light reset and the issue pops up again. What other suggestions do you suggest?

Re: Airbag light must go
Replace the connectors, that is what most people do when the issue pops up, but do so at your own risk as you are working with wiring that is an integral part of activating an air bag.
