Hi, I've done a 2liter conversion on my mk1. Just fitted a 276 cam.
What's best between the software upgrade , a chip or fuel management.
My car is a daily runner so I'm looking for descent fuel economy but still want that extra power when i want to fool around.
What can you suggest.

So if it was a mk1 it was either a carb or k-jetronic? So your options are either tune the k-jet of put aftermarket.
If it was actually a citi it might have also been a carb or mp9 or even mpi.
In which case either aftermarket or just get a 2l map loaded.
Perhaps if you start with more info one can give you better advise....

Its mp9. I had remapped the computer box to 2liter.

as panic said you need to give more info.... I once had a similar setup and I opted to use a dicktator and it was perfect

Ok so it was a citi golf. If you had the box remapped then just leave it if it is driving fine.

The idel is taking long to settle and i would like to get more power. I was advise to look into fuel management, chip or software upgrade.

unless the current management is making a total mess of it you are not looking at a huge increase in HP plus the pain in the behind of some aftermarkets for cold start etc. it ain't no magic bullet.
