Hello,
Can anyone please help me figure out where the location of the Intake Air Temperature Sensor is (im a total noob when it comes to cars), mine showed up as faulty and i need to locate it so that i can get the replacement part for it. Ive attached a picture of my engine bay i that helps.

Re: POLO 6R: HELP LOCATING INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE LOCATION
Most likely being read by the MAF. So no separate sensor.

Thanks, replacing the MAF fixed the issue.

Re: POLO 6R: HELP LOCATING INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE LOCATION
bad plug, broken wire - what does it read when you check the measuring blocks?.

Re: POLO 6R: HELP LOCATING INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE LOCATION
We triple checked the plugs and the wire, visually it looks ok. it doesnt seem like i can get measuring blocks for my vehicle the option is greyed out - i can however check "advanced measuring values" are there any other values or options i can explore to verify the MAF works fine?panic-mechanic wrote:bad plug, broken wire - what does it read when you check the measuring blocks?.
Thanks for your assistance.
Edit:
Is what's written below true - someone from a different forum suggested this as i have Revo Stage1 on the car
As I explained before... its a diagnostics table... even if peak airflow hasn't changed much or is excessively higher the table is graduated so any increase in airflow mid range can also potentially trip this code...
Nothing to do with dodgy connections, what it in fact is is that the airflow is exceeding what the map is expecting, or has tables for.
My Stage 1 used to do this.
Basically, the map has tables for airflow, and they will go up to x. Say for example x = 180g/s. When you go out and occasionally break through that barrier, to 182-183, the map throws that warning code.
Airflow is worked out on voltage, x amount of flow past the sensor produces y voltage. The ECU uses the Y value to calculate fuelling. More airflow, the more y will equal, until it goes past the point where it hasn't got data on what to do with any more. Thus, fault code logged.
Basically, the long and short of what I'm trying to say is it's not broken.

Re: POLO 6R: HELP LOCATING INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE LOCATION
Yes lookmin advanced meauring values. It's the same thing just presented diffrently. Tick to select the block and log it and see what temps are showing.
If they look reasonable then yes speak to the guys from revo.
Did itnsuddenly start appearing after loading a file? Or have you had the file on for a while?

Re: POLO 6R: INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE - SIGNAL TOO HIGH
Hi Panic,
Managed to run logs today checked the following parameters:
"Intake air temperature: - got 43°C-50°C hard driving"
"Air Mass: - 94g/s (Max)"
"Timing angle retardation cylinder (all cylinders): -8 MAX comes up after 5000 revs/min"
"Coolant temperature: -96 °C MAX"
Ive been running the Revo file for about 10days now, tuner says to bring the car back in this weekend so will see if the issues persist afterwards.
Thanks for your assistance.

Re: POLO 6R: INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE - SIGNAL TOO HIGH
Also get your tuner to slow down the timing a little bit. You are not doing that engine a favour by trying to push timing and it has to do retard the whole time. Remember for it to begin retarding timing like that it has to have seen knock and that is the death of them.
