2011 Audi A4 B8

Post by kavesh02 »

Hi all

I want to flush the brake fluid on my A4. Is this a simple job like any other car or is there more to it, like needing to plug in the laptop.

Can I just suck up most of the fluid from the master and top up with fresh fluid and use the old pump and hold method while the bleeder is opened. Starting from the furthest wheel from the master cylinder.

Also what brake fluid should I get, regular DOT4 or from Audi dealership or Europarts or Goldwagen?

How much of fluid will I need to get.

Thanks in advance.

Same process. No need to plug in a laptop. I usually buy about a litre for that job.

Whatever you like that is decent.
Honestly bosch /whatever dot4 is more than good enough.

I successfully bled and flushed the brakes this weekend. I ended us using Castrol dot4. Used almost 1 litre.
What I struggled to see was the fluid level so was not sure how much I could safely suck out before filling fresh fluid.I strong metal bracket is fitted over the master cylinder. Not sure if its full or at minimum mark.

Thanks again for the advice panic-mechanic.
