Need some advice on a seat ibiza 20l sport
Hi guys .hope everyone's good .i have a seat ibiza it's a 20l 8v X flow . at the moment the motor is been taken apart and i am planning on boosting it .need advice on the parts needed ?
Going with a T28/T3.
Wat pistons should I use to drop compression. Or is it possible to resize the conrod if yes by how much ?
Injector size.and Wat injector can I buy to fit in the original fuel rail.
The car is been used every day I want it done reliable ?
Ecu: standard computer box with a dastec and a module. (injection module )

Re: Need some advice on a seat ibiza 20l sport
Interesting project.
I cannot comment on the required parts though, goodluck!
What power are you hoping to make? Reliable and aftermarket turbo dont go together necessarily. What budget have you set? I would recommend it being a better idea to sell the 2.0 and buy an Ibiza Cupra 1.8T. At least then the rest of the chassis is built for the power (i.e. brakes, suspension, wheels etc)

I have around 30k .With the 1.8T would I still use the same stock computer box and looms or would I have to go aftermarket engine management?hubbly_bubbly wrote:Interesting project.

Re: Need some advice on a seat ibiza 20l sport
I dont see 30k being enough for a turbo conversion and the necessary suspension and brake upgrades, but if you're set on it scavenge as much as you can off a scrapped 1.8T (A3/Polo GTi/Cupra/Mk4)
It is an ingenius solution to a problem that should have never existed in the 1st place...

Re: Need some advice on a seat ibiza 20l sport
I think the summary of advice would be to fix the 2.0l motor as is, put it back in the car and sell the whole car.
Then take the money from the car sale and extra R30k and buy an entire Ibiza Cupra.

Re: Need some advice on a seat ibiza 20l sport
For our fuel you want about 8.5:1 to use 95 octane and 1 bar on that motor. Best is to bring the correct forged pistons in.
Graham savage that owns goldwagen CBD built a golf 4 with the same motor turbo. We ran it on a perfect power xms.
This piggyback plus turbo module thing never works for me but some people make it work. R30k os about half the budget it will actually cost you in the end.

Re: Need some advice on a seat ibiza 20l sport
It really depends on the end power you aim for. And if you use the stock management already upping the injector size is an issue becuase for a start you have to remap the entire stock map for that.
So if it was me 440cc plus aftermarket.

Re: Need some advice on a seat ibiza 20l sport
What about just dropping a 20VT AEG/AUG (i Think)
Motors are less than 30K and a solid base to start with. Add dictator, 440cc injectors, some plumbing and perhaps a bigger turbo and you could do it for less than 50K but at least you can do it step by step?

Like so: http://www.vwclub.co.za/forum/viewtopic ... 0&t=207848
Then you might have some change after fitting this and do the upgrades one at a time or buy all the hardware bit by bit and install in the end.
