Suspension lowering question

Post by Dale »

By how much can I cut the springs.....

Ok seriously though, in general, when a suspension is lowered with proper lowering springs, say 35 mm, do you need to shorten the shock absorber by 35mm or more to compensate so that it does not bottom out? how does this calculus work?

Thanks.

generally the OEM strut will be able to accomodate up to 40mm lower ride height without bottoming out.

lower than that and yes you require a strut that is shorter by the amount you are lowering to maintain adequate damper travel
