MP9 Throttle Body Idle Control With Dicktator

Post by Herschel »

Hi

Has anyone wired up their idle control with the stock MP9 throttle with a Dicktator management?

:iagree:

Works fine as panic says. Speak to Zuna here on the forum. We helped him to get his wired and setup. You will need to set it up (calibrate close and open throttle) and change idle control parameters on Dicktator to have it working.

Ok cool.
My TPS has been calibrated already,so it's just a matter of wiring up the idle control motor on the throttle body & doing the configuration.

In case you want to know which pins to use for idle control. Info in this thread.

Re: MP9 Throttle Body Idle Control With Dicktator

Post by Herschel »

I just wanted to revive this post.

So,when i fitted my Dicktator management last year I had the management controlling the idling with the MP9 throttle body.
I however noticed, that i couldn't get the revs to drop when coming to a stand still (sometimes),but when the car was cold started it would idle perfect. I played around with the settings but couldn't get it to idle properly & even the tuner i was using @ that time recommended that i disconnect the idle control from the Dicktator & just tap a screw in by the throttle plate controller.

Now,i've fitted a 282 cam & want the car to idle properly on cold start.
1. Can one really get the Dicktator to control the stepper motor 100% properly without having the revs hanging when changing gears or coming to a complete stop?
2. i was thinking of maybe getting a 2nd hand 16V ICV & wiring that up,because i know that worked really good on my Toyota 20V with 293° cams i had a few years back. I'm really leaning towards this route again, but if i can get the car to idle properly with the throttle bodies stepper motor, that would be awesome.

It’s up to you and your tuner on how well it is setup for idle control on mp9 tb even with 282 cam. If you feel more comfortable, go the icv route if it has worked for you before. Still need to tune and set the settings though.

Yeah I know it still needs to be tuned no matter what route I go, but I just wanted to make sure that the throttle body can handle or be setup perfectly to idle correctly.

your berlingo had drive by wire. dictator does not do drive by wire. if you have removed the original management you have removed the thing that makes that work.

Yes.

You need to change the setting on Dicktator from TPS to MAP based on the Main Page and connect the vacuum line to the intake manifold.

I've connected, opel corsa 4 pin coil pack, original injectors, original 2 pin pick up sensor, 2 pin thermostat.,fuel pump to dicktator. Throttle is cable driven, with no electrics connected to it as I have now connected a vaccum pipe from intake to dictator, I've connected the injectors 1-3 2-3 , on starting car they all shoot at the same time,, there is no sequence at all,, I've even changed wiring to 1-4 2-3, still does the same when starting even up to 10 secs I've starting. Coil pack leads I connected 1-4.2-3, car never started, I swopped 1and 4 around then it started, car starts but open throttle and it cuts out, computer is plugged in, at the bottom it says fuel pump when fuel pump when is on, next to it on the screen should be a blue throttle indicator,, but it never comes on,, I tried to suck directly from the dictator air pipe and then it comes on for a sloit second, thanks

Uhm, dictator does not do sequential injection and the fact that they don't will not stop the car from starting.
If the car starts but then dies could be as simple as adding some fuel. Ie. Doing some tuning....
