Recommended mag size for a polo 1.2 tsi trendline

Hi guys, I want to biy mag wheels for my car and I'm thinking about going for 17" rims. I like the new polo gti rims or the older one but I don't know if it a good idea to buy replica. As for the correct mag size/pcd I'm also not sure. Please help.

What is standard on your car? Take those details, find an online converted and go from there. PCD should be 5x100 and I prefer not going for fake wheels, or replica's as many are simply fake and of poor quality.

Petrol consumption suffers.
Tyres become more expensive (in most cases)

I'd recommend looking at 17" only if your current vehicle has 16". One size up is the general rule of thumb.

Check the price for your current tyre size first, then compare it with the size you think will suit your pocket.

Take particular note of the offset (ET) of your current rim and avoid extreme variances.

Oh, and OEM rims can be quite expensive, unless buying used.

These tsi have small spacings for wide rims.

If you aren't going to do the drop setup then I'd say go 17s with a 40 sidewall and a 215 or 225 width. That should look decent and it will be ideal for a daily.

They say with the mag size, you can go 1 or 2 size up and considering that a trendline, comfortline and a highline is basically the same car, with a highline coming out with 16/17", do you think putting 17" on a trendline will be a problem?

I'm just looking for a nice vw mag/rim for everyday drive. I would have gone with a second hand 16" vw polo tsi rims but when I went to the tyre shop, they told me that 16" tyres are expensive.

And the original is very very expensive. I went to vw the other day and asked how much is a set, I think I asked for 16/17" tsi rims. They said it's about R17 000 without tyres.

There won't be a problem as long as you properly compare the new setup to the old setup to make sure you have no clearance issues and don't affect the rolling circumference too much. It may not be the best idea to go for heavy wheels though, with such a small engine.

175/70 R14 to 215/40 R17 - 0.8% change in circumference so small change in speedometer, odometer and tripmeter.

If they all have the same engine size then you already have the specs/examples to work with - if you are looking at the same rim, of course.

Different rim usually means different specs, eg >< offset, so be aware.
