Yoh! Where do you get such useful information? If I may ask, how is a polo trendline different from the highline? The latter comes out with 16" standard.

I used the Google  I did make my own wheel spec comparison tool in Excel a few years back but I am not sure where I saved it.

I doubt there is much mechanically different between the two cars, it will be a difference in engine type/size, gearbox , interior and exterior trim.

That's why I think a 17" won't be an overkill, since vw does fit it in a highline. I checked the tyre size for the 16" comfortline rims that I like yesterday, it was a 215/45 R16 and now i have to check tje tyrr size for the one the 17" that comes with a highline and compare tyre prices. Another thing, do you recommend buying a set of rims from people online, as that's the only way I can get myself those original rims, as vw prices are too steep?

There is nothing wrong with buying online but do your homework before hand regarding what to look out for when buying wheels and if you can on the seller as there are a lot of untrustworthy people out there.

That is exactly my concern, especially here in Johannesburg. I saw these online at about +-, R5, 000 with or without tyres.
