I've been hearing good things for both of these oils, which on is better?

I like Liqui Molly. Others like Shell. Pick your favourite but make sure its in spec. Done. /thread.

Shell, Liqui Moly, Motul. As long as it is in spec for the car all are fine. Stick to 1 oil though, if you are having no issues with your current oil why switch.

If you use something like liqui moly and need to top up you need to either have kept or bought as younwon't find it at a service station.. If you use shell you drive in and get oil to top up with at any shell. That is about 90% the ason why I use sheel for myself and customer cars rather than something like liqui moly. Not because it is a bad product.. More about being convenient and a good product.

i am using shell all the time without any problems, just every body is talking about the other one is better due to less sludge in the engine when using liquid moli, that's about it

There is no sludge issues with shell. I can categorically guarantee you that.

I've been using shell red bottle in my caddy since I got the car, no problems at all and yes it is cheaper that liquid moli

I have used Shell in all my cars with zero issues and have never felt the need to look at any other brand. As panic, says, it makes topping up easy if I need to as there are a lot of Shell garages around.

Then continue with it bud. I've been using the very same oil in my caddy 10 years now & no issues at all.

I like Liqui as well.

I paid R750 at Imcomex for 6l of Liqui Moly 4100. Don't know what Shell goes for.

Shell is good and i've used in a few of my cars before but since last year, I've moved over to Liqui Moly in all my cars with either MOS2 or Ceratech Anti friction additives...

Its an anti friction additive that forms a suspension layer on all the metal surfaces in the motor to add extra lubrication in friction areas... like vaseline for some hahaha, I put ceratech in my M coupe when i do every second oil service to aid with lubrication on cold starts, since i only use the car once in a while... you know M Cars love to eat rod bearings so this helps alot... Ceratech is expensive... like R400 for a 300ml tin

I put MOS2 in my Golf and my Wifes car... its like R90 a 300ml tin and is also an anti friction additive... Both liquimoly products you just throw it in with the oil when you doing the service.

Interesting. I won a tin of ceratech as a prize at an autocross event.

I personally don't buy in to the additives thing, would be interesting to see if it helps on the M coupe. Have you done bearings yet? What kms on the coupe?

Would be great to hear panic or any of the other guys in the knows thoughts on such additives.
