Lots of dealerships use different brands (Shell, Castrol, Petronas and so on) as long as the oil meets the VW spec for the motor that is fine.

Shoprite oil, really? How old are you?

Find out what is the requirements for the specific engine. In general, there is nothing wrong with Engen.
My friends, myself and my dad are using it in all our cars. Friends have really heavy foots and are hard on engines. My cars are just normal plain cars and my dad's car is a Volvo S60 turbo. I use the 15W 40 in my cars and motorcycle and the rest I mentioned use the 5W 40 one.
