APK/AZJ 2.0 crank for shortblock build.

Post by jacquesdejager21 »

Hi guys,me again..My x-flow build that i did is still going strong I now want to take my 1.8 and do the 2.0 shortblock. From what i have seen i will need the 2.6 caravelle pistons(82.5mm) and a 2.0 crank.I just want to know if the crank from the newer 2.0 8v vw engines will work if i remove the drive gear for the oilpump?

Crank needs to have the gear removed and needs machining shorter and the nose changes.
Dx is just like any of those blocks. Some guys say 84.5 but I personally am not comfortable with that.

Thanks again panic, you are my hero i will rather sell the crank then and buy ady/2E crank.Think i will just stick to 82.5mm pistons to be on the safe side.

Yup I recently built my 2.0 shortblock

Have 83.5mm caravelle Pistons in mine (AFV Block) wont go bigger than 83.5mm the walls start to get thin.

this is with 83.5mm pistons
