always the issue with these things these days are the electronics side of it. so the engine controller is expecting a dsg box. Now you have wiring and controllers sitting there that the engine module is talking to. That is besides the clutch pedal and gear linkage setup that you will have to move. So dashboard out, move pedal box. Oh yes and then there is the small matter of making things like the reverse light switch and speedo etc work after because that differs. So basically you are back to stripping the whole thing to a shell and building your entire car into it.
Or just go buy a dsg box. much easier.

Would you mind posting pics of your damaged car just so we can see what you are dealing with?

im not too sure what I should buy, there is a Golf GT its a 1.4 tsi the guy wants 8k for the car with no bumper, cradle or lights and bonnet

the other one is for 15k its a GTi with no back suspension, no doors or seats no front end except a bonnet but its licenced if that makes a difference.

I will post pics when I get home. of my car and the 2 options I have to purchase. I cant do it from my work PC

Unless you get exactly what you had younare in for what I told you already. Strip to a shell and move EVERYTHING over. And trust me I know how much work that is. I have exactly the same job coming for me.

theres not much worth selling on the car I have, engine gearbox interior parts.

if I buy a cheap body and make it work. I will be able to sell a running car and pay the bank.

to be honest, I probably wont buy a GTi again. im driving a Honda brio now and from spending R150 a day on fuel to spending 600 a month now with the brio. I cant believe I willingly put myself through that.

im trying to find a manual GTI but If I cant I will try to get a DSG gearbox,

I feel that I can do the work that is required, especially if im the one that strips the parts out of the smashed one, I will definitely be able to put it back together in the donor.

obviously I want to try to avoid that situation.
